In 2016, Michel thought he had found prints belonging to the mythical Mokélé-mbembé. But since then, he has found neither trace nor tangible proof of the creature. He is disheartened. "Michel, it has to be said, you are tenacious," a scientist colleague tells him. But which conditions need to be met in order to glimpse this mystical and legendary animal? Approach it with a pure heart, suggests Michel's wife; name the right price, retort the male villagers; be a woman, say the female villagers; or, state the initiates, be approved by the genie of the Anamocot! But what if the locals were simply wary of the systematic looting of African art? And what if the women were just suspicious of the men disappearing and pocketing the cash?
