Two years after Patrice Lumumba’s death, a Haitian child joins his parents, who are working in the Congo. 30 years later, based on a photo of Lumumba found by his mother, Raoul Peck crafts a highly personal film, combining eyewitness accounts and archival footage to explore the legacy of this mythical leader of Congolese independence and his political assassination.
