7 April
10:30 - 12:00
Musée du Léman
Free without reservation
Discussion in English
In line with a shared aesthetic convention, the documentary has long been negatively identified as a ‘non-fiction’, always tempted by the myth of transparency and a formal search for objectivity, favouring the subject over cinematographic invention. However, the last 30 years have confirmed the growing subjective share of representations of reality, whether observational, interactive or reflexive. How do contemporary filmmakers script their films, from the most obvious stage of writing to that of editing, when the filmed material is transformed into a narrative? How does their imagination permeate the story they want to convey to us?
Speakers:
Roland Edzard (dir. La Montagne d'Or)
Ruosong Huang (dir. Chasing The Sun)
Evi Stamou (dir. Who Was There?)
Claudia Mollese (dir. Roikin)
