The Good Years

A single, successful magazine photographer in his fifties moves back into his old childhood home to care for his mother after she is diagnosed with the onset of dementia.Traumatised himself by a long hospital stay and suffering from severe depression, he lovingly cares for his mother and dreams of his earlier adventures when his world of photography was still in order.The film touches on essential themes of being human, it deals with growing old and confronting the hopeless. But also about the unconditional love between mother and son, which is the essence and foundation for living together in a time of change.
