During the war in the former Yugoslavia, journalists, both amateur and professional, gave partisan, manipulative accounts of the conflict, spreading lies and racial hatred, rather than providing information.  Fifteen years later, the filmmaker, who has collected articles and images exemplifying this malpractice, sets out to discover what has become of them.

During the war which ravaged the former Yugoslavia from 1991 to 1995, many journalists, both amateur and professional, gave partisan, manipulative accounts of the conflict, spreading lies and racial hatred, rather than providing reliable information. Fifteen years later, the Association of Independent Serbian Journalists is taking legal action against those responsible, deemed as guilty as the soldiers and politicians who carried out massacres and encouraged ethnic cleansing. The filmmaker, who over the years has collected articles and television footage bearing witness to this malpractice (sometimes laughably bizarre in its madness, sometimes chilling), travels to Belgrade, Zagreb, Sarajevo and Podgorica to find answers to the questions which haunt him: What has become of the local journalists who reported the war?, What do they  remember of that period?, How do they feel now about their lies? A journey into the “heart of darkness”.
