Sonali

Sonali seems to float, like the first two shots, in a boat on the Ulhas River or walking up a busy street in Mumbai. She is suspended in an intermediary state where the reality of the world that surrounds her has no hold over her. Sonali is a Hijra, neither man nor woman, she exists mainly through the power she exercises over the men who look at her and desire her.
