A filmmaker and his cameraman friend undertake the journey from London to Los Angeles to meet a famous storyboard artist, who will draw the film of their trip. In this hilarious film journal, with tangents at every turn, Ruaidhri Ryan (Fog World, VdR 2018) once again adeptly explores the unexpected lurking in the corners of reality.

A filmmaker and his cameraman friend journey from London to Los Angeles to meet Janet, a famous Hollywood storyboard artist, who will draw the film of their trip. In this hilarious filmed diary, Ruaidhri Ryan (Fog World, VdR 2018) once again brilliantly explores the unexpected that lurks everywhere in reality – contrary to the expectations we may have in life. Haunted by his idea of a Hollywood script, and by the discovery of a city where everything is a cinematic reference to the American dream, the filmmaker's thoughts accumulate in a big visual brainstorm. He defies these digressions and his penchant for planning, instead welcoming the twists and turns provided by his encounters. We then discover that the dynamics underlying the creation of a fiction storyboard seem even more exciting than the storyboard itself. A comic yet subtle reflection on our idea of what reality is. So, to plan or not to plan? That is the question.
