Since the age of six, Noah has navigated between his mother’s home, foster homes and problems with the law. But whenever he loses his footing, he hops on his bike, hurtles down the slopes of Lausanne and becomes the king of tarmac. Shot over three years, Toute ma vie delicately explores the faultlines of adolescence, painting an intimate portrait of a quest for identity.

Minimum legal age 12 years, recommended 14 years and over
Noah is always on the move. He is looking for his place in his family, in society and in the landscape. To film him, filmmaker Matias Carlier followed him for more than three years and developed his own specific language, alternating between immersive cinematographic shots, very direct camcorder sequences and scenes filmed with an iPhone. These aesthetic choices reflect the duality of the protagonist: caught between exuberant freedom and introspection, chaos and gentleness. However, a number of constants stand out in this relentless movement: family, justice, friends... and the landscape. Noah takes off when he gets on his bike, slaloming between cars and trouble alike, gaining strength and momentum. Between the vineyards and the lake, in a setting that seems idyllic, there unfolds a fragile slice of life, an anger and suffering that nothing seems to relieve.
