À presque 30 ans, Valentina habite toujours chez ses parents. Lorsque l’état de santé de son père se détériore, elle est contrainte de prendre sa vie en main. Un délicat récit émancipateur enraciné dans une terre aussi aimée que ravagée.

Niscemi, Sicily. A land that has become inhospitable, damaged by intensive farming, fires and "MUOS" – impressive military telecommunications antennas that emit powerful electromagnetic waves. Besieged by these monsters, the inhabitants of Niscemi live in a complex territory, destroyed by the interests of the capitalist world, but which they nevertheless continue to cherish. Filmmaker Francesca Scalisi focuses on one of these locals: at almost 30, Valentina is still living in the family home, both dependent on her family and caring for her sick father. With his health deteriorating, he can no longer drive and it falls to Valentina to take her driving test and take charge of her life. The flowers she crochets seem to herald a new spring. The filmmaker tells the story of a seemingly ordinary life, recording Valentina's actions with kindness, between reality and fiction, the visible and the invisible, the prosaic and the marvellous. A delicate tale of emancipation rooted in a land that is as ravaged as it is beloved.
