1962. Un enfant haïtien rejoint ses parents, coopérant·e·s au Congo, deux ans après la mort de Patrice Lumumba. À partir d’une photo trouvée par sa mère où ce dernier apparaît, Raoul Peck réalise 30 ans après un film très personnel qui articule témoignages et archives pour interroger l’héritage de ce leader mythique de l’indépendance congolaise et son assassinat politique.
